Speaker Biography

Associate Professor Vo Thi Tra An is a lecturer at the Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine, Nong Lam University, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She graduated with a PhD from Utrecht University, the Netherlands in 2007 and received the title of Associate Professor at the age of 40. She currently teaches Veterinary Pharmacology, Research Methodology, and Giving Presentation subjects to undergraduate and graduate students. With 18 years of research on antibiotic resistance, anitibiotic use in veterinary medicine, and antibiotic replacement solutions in livestock farmig, she has contributed 76 articles to local and international journals along with 6 books. She participates in developing and commercializing herbal products to protect animal health. She has been consulting and training in courses and seminars for organizations such as FAO, USAID, FHI, OUCRU, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, pharmaceuticals, and animal feed companies in the above topics

Dr. Nguyen Thanh Lam graduated from Can Tho University, Can Tho, Vietnam in 2008 with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. Following this, he enrolled the master course in agriculture and life sciences at the Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, The University of Tokyo, Japan for the period 2010-2012. In 2015, Lam moved to Japan to fulfill PhD degree for four years with the program for Fostering Global Leaders in Veterinary Science for Contributing to One Health at Hokkaido University. Dr. Lam PhD's study focuses on virological and epidemiological basis for the control of H5 highly pathogenic avian influenza. Currently, Dr. Lam is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Can Tho University and his research interest is about surveillance, epidemiology and bioinformatics to explore interaction between host, pathogen and environments of animal infectious diseases and One Health. Dr. Lam had good understanding and experience for working in the field and communication with local authorities and farmers.
